Bipolar Awareness Day took place on 6 October and we encouraged you to share your experiences of bipolar.

Whether you have a diagnosis, currently being assessed, or are a family member or friend, we collected your stories, photos, art and music.

We were amazed by the response after we received around 1,200 contributions throughout the week via Facebook, Twitter and email.

The range of experiences that were shared also showed that bipolar affects many different people in unique ways.

By providing a space for many of you to share your stories, it was clear that talking about mental health is as important as ever.
