Get information Pendulum: Our blog Carers Rights Day: Brian's story Bipolar UK supporter Brian shares his experience and advice for supporting a loved one with bipolar. Tell us about yourself I help one person with bipolar; getting shopping, meals if they don't want to cook, going to appointments with them, help with filling out forms, and being at the end of the phone if they want a chat, 24 hours a day. As a carer or supporter is there anything significant that you felt was helpful to your loved one? To be at the end of the phone to help them to self-manage. How do you look after your own health and wellbeing? I take time out to get away on a weekend and for some me-time. What advice would you give to other family members or carers? To be there for the person you're caring for, even if it's on the end of the phone to give advice if needed. If you're a carer and need information or support, take a look at our services here.
