The new Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act comes into force on 6 April 2016.

Social Services and Well-being Act (Wales) comes into force on 6 April

The new law aims to improve well-being for individuals who need support and for their carers and ensure that individuals have more of a say in the support they receive.

A new assessment process will simplify how individuals are assessed and carers will have an equal right to an assessment for their own support. The new approach will also be preventative, ensuring greater support within the local community.
