How we’re making change happen
Bipolar UK is advocating every day for better support and treatment for people living with bipolar.
In the past five years, we have:
- Widely surveyed our community to understand what it’s like to live with bipolar in the 21st century
- carried out systemic reviews with our network of clinicians and academics
- Presented advocacy reports at parliamentary receptions in London and Cardiff
- Sent Freedom of Information (FOI) requests to every Health Board and Trust in the UK
- Engaged with hundreds of MPs, policy-makers and ministers
- Collaborated with partner organisations, such as the Mental Health Alliance and the International Society of Bipolar Disorders
- Submitted consultation responses on a range of issues, including Welfare Reform, Men’s Mental Health, the NHS 10-Year Plan, Wales Mental Health Strategy, and Community Mental Health
