Our strategy 2026-29

Building a better world together for everyone affected by bipolar

Bipolar UK's 2026-2029 strategy has been shaped by the experiences, insights and ideas of people affected by bipolar, helping us focus on what matters most. Over the next three years, we'll work together to raise awareness, strengthen support, advance research and drive positive change, so that everyone affected by bipolar has the opportunity to live well and fulfil their potential.

It all started with listening

Over the past year, Bipolar UK has listened carefully to our community. Nearly 500 people living with or affected by bipolar shared their experiences with us, telling us what's working, what isn't, and what they want to see in the future. Their voices have been at the heart of every step of this strategy's development.

We've used these insights to shape our priorities for the next three years, building on our strengths while responding to the challenges our community faces every day. Together, we've created a strategy that will help us reach more people, provide better support, strengthen research and influence change where it's needed most.

Our four strategic priorities

To build a better world together for everyone affected by bipolar, we will focus on four strategic priorities:

A phased approach

Our strategy is designed to grow carefully and responsibly. Over three years, we will build on what already works, test and learn, and then embed the support that makes the greatest difference.

Year 1

Foundation and focus

Strengthening what works

Year 2

Scale and influence

Testing and adapting

Year 3

Embed and sustain

Developing more of what's needed
