Bipolar UK 2027 Calendar Competition

1. Eligibility

  1. The competition is open to anyone aged 18 or over.
  2. Entries must be submitted using the official submission form by 5pm on Tuesday 22 September 2026.
  3. There is no entry fee.

2. Artwork requirements

  1. Submitted artwork must be the entrant's own original work.
  2. Generative AI tools must not be used to create any part of the artwork. Entries created using AI image generators will not be eligible.
  3. Submissions may include photography, painting, drawing, digital art, mixed media or other visual art forms.
  4. Artwork should be submitted as a high-quality landscape image (JPEG or PNG) suitable for A4 calendar printing.
  5. Low-quality images will not be eligible for inclusion in the calendar.

3. Content standards

  1. We welcome artwork inspired by life with bipolar, the changing seasons, hope and recovery.
  2. Submitted artwork must be suitable for a public audience and safe to share with our community.
  3. Bipolar UK reserves the right to reject any entry that it considers offensive, inappropriate, harmful or inconsistent with our values.
  4. Artwork that could put others at risk or cause significant distress may not be eligible for inclusion in the calendar or for sharing through Bipolar UK's channels.
  5. Entries must not include:
    • Nudity or sexually explicit content
    • Graphic violence or distressing imagery
    • Depictions of suicide or self-harm methods, or other potentially harmful behaviour
    • Discriminatory, hateful or abusive content
    • Content that infringes another person's intellectual property rights, privacy or consent

4. Selection process

  1. A panel appointed by Bipolar UK will select 12 artworks to feature in the Bipolar UK 2027 Calendar.
  2. The panel's decision is final.
  3. Selected artists will be contacted using the details provided in their submission.

5. Promotion and use of artwork

  1. By submitting artwork, entrants grant Bipolar UK permission to use their submission in connection with the Bipolar UK 2027 Calendar and related promotional activities.
  2. This includes use in:
    • The Bipolar UK 2027 Calendar
    • Bipolar UK's website
    • Bipolar UK's social media channels
    • Bipolar UK's email newsletters
    • Printed and digital promotional materials related to the calendar
  3. Permission will remain in place until 31 December 2028, allowing Bipolar UK reasonable time to promote, distribute and celebrate the calendar.
  4. Wherever possible, Bipolar UK will credit artists when displaying their work.

6. Copyright

  1. Artists retain copyright of their artwork.
  2. By entering the competition, artists grant Bipolar UK a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to reproduce, publish and share their submission for the purposes described in these Terms and Conditions.
  3. Artists confirm that they own all rights necessary to grant this permission.

7. Personal data

  1. Personal information submitted as part of the competition will be used solely for administering the competition and contacting entrants.
  2. Personal data will be processed in accordance with Bipolar UK's Privacy Policy.

8. General

  1. Bipolar UK reserves the right to amend, suspend or cancel the competition if circumstances beyond its control make this necessary.
  2. Submission of an entry constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
