We're going to put our pinnies on to bring in the pounds this February in aid of the thousands of individuals and families we support throughout the year.
My son was diagnosed with Ultra Rapid Cycling Bipolar a year ago following years of significant mood swings resulting in family and friends all feeling the brunt of these episodes. I wish to bring an understanding to this condition as I have experienced the misunderstanding and stigma this illness brings first hand. I am also aware of the support that close family members need during these cycles just as much as the sufferer themselves.
I have struggled with Bipolar Disorder with many discriminations made against me. The membership of being with Bipolar UK means so much to me, information and support. Too many people misunderstand mental illness, it is not a decision, it is not a choice. Not enough support, and it is least popular in the polls for funding for care. This is an opportunity to raise the standard for caring for each other.
I have lifetime Bipolar (hypomanic) disorder, but it doesn't stop me decoratin &sellin cupcakes :-)
I am organising a "Bake for Bipolar" event at Westerfield Village Hall on Saturday 27th February, 2-5pm
